Hi, I'm Becky Beck, Creator of the What Matters App
I created this app because no mother should have to face this journey alone. Whether you're processing a difficult diagnosis, cherishing every moment with your baby, or preparing for an uncertain future, this app offers support, comfort, and guidance every step of the way.
If you’re feeling:
- Devastated by a diagnosis you never imagined hearing for your baby?
- Overwhelmed by the uncertainty of what lies ahead and how you'll survive it?
- Heartbroken knowing your time with your baby may be limited?
- Torn between wanting to cherish every moment and struggling under the weight of grief?
- Isolated because few people truly understand what you're going through?
- Consumed by fear, sadness, anger, or guilt as you navigate impossible decisions?
- Exhausted from carrying both hope and heartbreak at the same time?
You are not alone.
Receiving a fatal or life-limiting diagnosis for your baby changes everything. The grief often begins long before birth, as you face the unimaginable reality of loving your baby while preparing for a goodbye you never wanted.
This journey can feel lonely, overwhelming, and impossible to navigate. But you do not have to carry it alone. There is support, compassion, and a path forward—one that honors both your love for your baby and your own healing along the way.
Inside the What Matters App you'll find ...
A private, self-guided program for mothers facing a fatal or life-limiting diagnosis for their baby.
My grief journey began the day my baby received his fatal diagnosis.
I was 20 weeks pregnant when doctors told me my son was incompatible with life. We declined the option to terminate the pregnancy and chose to let him live, however long that would be. He was born at 37 weeks and lived for about an hour.
Losing my son was the most difficult thing I have ever gone through, and yet somehow, the most beautiful experience of my life. I have come to know that every soul has a purpose--no matter how short their life may be.
